Ethan is Out of Surgery!
Today Ethan had surgery to place new skin grafts on portions of his face and ears. He has come through the surgery and is doing very well. His chest congestion seems to be better today and he is not coughing as much. Praise God! After being in recovery for a time he was able to wake up and talk with everyone. He is not on a ventilator and is breathing well on his own. It was a very, very long day for both Ethan and Sara and after what I pray will be a good nights rest for them, I hope to be able to give you more information about his progress. Thank you for your faithfulness to prayer. Scripture says that the prayers of the saints are like sweet incense rising up to heaven. A pleasure for our God to hear, and an amazing gift to Sara and Ethan.

Dear Sara and Ethan,
Words cannot begin to describe the love that we have for you both. Word had spread so quickly from Nashville to Del Ray Street in Thousand Oaks. All your old neighbors are praying deeply for the success of the surgeries and to see both of you back here again soon. We promise to dedicate our next block party to you both and Ethan will be the Grand Marshall of the street. We pray that God sends quick healing your way and that the Doctors are able to help relieve some of the pain so that Ethan can start smiling again. Sara you are an amazing mother and God truely has his hand in your life. You have demonstrated your love for Ethan from the time you brought him home and you have taught alot of us how to be the type of mother that God has intended all of us to be. Thank you both for spreading your love to us and the old neighborhood. We look forward to hearing what happens next and we look forward to seeing you soon. We love you.
Your old neighbors and friends,
Rick, Lynn, Mandy, Courtney, Danielle and of course Baylee Maina

Praise God that surgery went well. Ashley and Christian are praying every night. We know our Lord and Savior is so powerfull that He can do amazing things. We miss you and are thinking of you daily.
Sara,
...still thinking about our conversation about how Ethan's outside body is changing and will not be the same but how the spirit of Ethan, inside the body, is still there and IS THE SAME! That's him! That's the Ethan we know!
...only now, his spirit is growing stronger, wiser, with a deeper sense of what life truly is!

Dear Sara And Ethan
Andrew, Allison and I heard about the accident through a prayer chain at Calvary and immediately and constantly have been praying for both of you-for healing and comfort for Ethan-for strength and Gods understanding for Sara. I, personally, can only see Ethan one way-smiling and laughing while I push him on the swing set. If God grants me one wish in all this, it's that I can do that with him again. Our love and support are with both of you always, Andrew, Allison and Jim Haas
Dear Sara and Ethan:
I am so happy to hear all the good news, after the surgery. God is working!!! He listen our prayers.
There is so many people praying that all this blessing will bring happiness and health.
I was praying for Ethan and You yesterday night and I would like to share this with you:
"Why?" We don't always know why God allows certain things, but we do know that on many occasions God has used hard moments to bring someone to himself.
The minute we put our faith in Jesus Christ, He is in control of all our circumstances. Nothing can get through to us without going through His filter of love.
Though we may not always understand our trials and sufferings,we can fall back on God's promises to us. We Know that He loves us and has given us eternal life (see John 3:16); That His thoughts towards us are good and not evil; that he gave us a future and hope (see Jeremiah 29:11); and that he will never us or forsake us (see Hebrews 13:5).
On that final day when we stand face to face with God, He will answer all our questions. But when unexplained suffering comes our way, we can fall back on His many promises and rest assured that all things will work out for our good (see Romans 8:28)
Dear Ethan,
You are doing amazing. I pray you keep up your strength to get better and come home soon. Love to mommy.
